Event Photo Collection
Guest Photo Upload:
How to Collect Every
Moment From Your Event
Your event will be photographed from 50, 100, maybe 300 different angles. The challenge is getting those photos off your guests' phones and into one place — without friction, without quality loss, and without chasing people down afterward.
The Problem With Guest Photos
Your professional photographer captures the formal moments beautifully. But the candid shot of your grandmother laughing, your colleague's surprised reaction, the spontaneous dance floor pile-on — those live on your guests' phones. Permanently.
Traditional workarounds all have the same flaw: they require effort from guests. Guests at events are there to enjoy themselves, not to navigate sharing menus. The higher the friction, the fewer photos you actually receive.
The solution is a zero-friction upload experience — one where the entire process takes under 30 seconds and works on any phone without installing anything.
5 Ways to Collect Guest Photos
Here's how each common method holds up in practice:
Email collection
Familiar to everyone
Photos arrive compressed, scattered across inboxes, guests forget, no central gallery
2/5
WhatsApp / group chat
Instant sharing
Heavy compression (up to 70% quality loss), privacy concerns, chaotic scrolling, hard to save all
2/5
Shared album (Google Photos / iCloud)
Good quality, familiar apps
Requires guests to have the same ecosystem account, poor cross-platform adoption
3/5
Disposable cameras
Tactile, fun novelty
$15–30 per camera, need 10+ for a large event, must develop film, 1–2 week delay, low quality
2/5
QR code photo wall
Zero friction, full-size originals when upgraded, moderated, no app, instant
Requires internet (standard at any modern venue)

Common Questions
Do guests need to create an account to upload photos?+
No. Guests scan a QR code and upload directly from their browser. No account, no app, no sign-up required.
What photo quality is preserved?+
Upgraded events store photos exactly as guests took them, with no compression or resizing, so you download the same file your guest uploaded. Free events keep a high-quality copy of up to 4096px. Location data is removed in the guest's browser before upload whenever it can read the photo: JPEG, PNG and WebP everywhere, and iPhone (HEIC) photos on Safari.
How do I stop guests from uploading inappropriate photos?+
Every photo goes through your moderation dashboard before appearing on the public wall. You approve or reject each one. Nothing goes live without your say-so.
Can I collect photos from guests who don't have a smartphone?+
The QR code method requires a smartphone camera. For guests without one, you can share the direct upload link via SMS or email as an alternative.
Is there a limit on how many photos guests can upload?+
On the free plan, events are limited to 50 photos total. Upgraded events have unlimited uploads — as many photos as your guests want to share.
